Colossians 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;
Colossians 4:3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door
for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,
Colossians 4:4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.
Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you
may know how you ought to answer each one.

Mark 4:11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery
of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables,
Revelation 22:14 Blessed are those who do His commandments, that they may
have the right to the tree of life, and may enter through the gates into the city.
Revelation 22:15 But outside are dogs and sorcerers and sexually immoral and
murderers and idolaters, and whoever loves and practices a lie.
1 Thessalonians 4:12 that you may walk properly toward those who are outside,
and that you may lack nothing.

Matthew 7:21 “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom
of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.
Matthew 7:22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied
in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your
name?
Matthew 7: 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me,
you who practice lawlessness!’

The insiders must get out in order to get the outsiders in.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is … not willing that any should perish but that all should
come to repentance.

I. HOW TO PRAY AS AN INSIDER FOR OUTSIDERS.
Colossians 4:2 Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving;

Matthew 17:21 ” … This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.

Colossians 4:2 Continue in prayer, and watch in the same …
Colossians 4:2 (NLT) Devote yourselves to prayer with an alert mind and a thankful
heart.
Colossians 4:2 (MESSAGE) Pray diligently. Stay alert, with your eyes wide
open in gratitude.

Colossians 4:2 ” … with thanksgiving;

Life is like train tracks, there is always good and bad, going on at the same time.

Colossians 4:3 meanwhile praying also for us, that God would open to us a door
for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in chains,
Colossians 4:4 that I may make it manifest, as I ought to speak.

Acts 14:27 Now when they had come and gathered the church together, they
reported all that God had done with them, and that He had opened the door
of faith to the Gentiles.
Acts 14:28 So they stayed there a long time with the disciples.
1 Corinthians 16:9, “For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there
are many adversaries.”
2 Corinthians 2:12 “When I came to Troas to preach Christ’s gospel, and a door
was opened to me by the Lord,

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice
and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

Lyrics “The Saivor is Waiting”
The Savior is waiting to enter your heart
Why don’t you let Him come in
There’s nothing in this world to keep you apart
What is your answer to Him
Time after time He has waited before
And now He is waiting again
To see if you’re willing to open the door
Oh how He wants to come in

Revelation 3:7 “… He who opens and no one shuts, and shuts and no one opens:”

II. HOW TO LIVE AS AN INSIDER IN FRONT OF OUTSIDERS.
Colossians 4:5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

The word for “redeem” means to buy up or grab the opportunity.

III. HOW TO SPEAK AS AN INSIDER TO OUTSIDERS.
Colossians 4:6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you
may know how you ought to answer each one.

Colossians 4:6 “… that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear;

for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Philippians 4:18 “… a sweet-smelling aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well pleasing
to God.

Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing

An ideal is defined as:
1) A conception of something in its absolute perfection.
2) One that is regarded as a standard or model of perfection or excellence.
3) An ultimate object of endeaver, a goal.
4) An honorable or worthy principle or aim.

I. A PICTURE PERFECT WIFE.
Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

Success in marriage is more than finding the right person; it is being the right
person.

1 Corinthians 11:3 But I want you to know that the head of every man is Christ,
the head of woman is man, and the head of Christ is God.

It’s plural leadership, singular headship.

Colossians 3:18 Wives, submit to your own husbands, as is fitting in the Lord.

II. A PICTURE PERFECT HUSBAND.
Colossians 3:19 Husbands, love your wives and do not be bitter toward them.

She married him because he was ‘strong and masculine’;
She divorced him because he was a very ‘dominating male.’
He married her because she was so ‘fragile and petite’;
He divorced her because she was so ‘weak and helpless.’
She chose him because ‘he knew how to provide a good living’;
She left him because ‘all he thought about was the business.’
He married her because she was ‘steady and sensible’;
He divorced her because she was ‘boring and dull.’”

Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church
and gave Himself for her,

Ephesians 5:28 So husbands ought to love their own wives as their own bodies;
he who loves his wife loves himself.

Genesis 2: 23 And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of
my flesh; She shall be called Woman, because she was taken out of Man.”
Genesis 2:24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined
to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.

III. A PICTURE PERFECT CHILD.
Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is well pleasing
to the Lord.

IV. A PICTURE PERFECT PARENT.
Colossians 3:21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become
discouraged.

Psalm 127:3 Children are a gift from the LORD ; they are a reward from him.
Proverbs 17:6 Grandchildren are the crown of old men …

The goal of parenting is godliness.
3 John 1:4 I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Luke 2:51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject
to them …

Luke 2:51 Then He went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was subject
to them …

A perfect husband is a man who does not demand a perfect wife.
A perfect wife is a woman who does not demand a perfect husband.
A perfect child is a child who does not demand perfect parents.
Perfect parents are those who do not demand perfect children.

Only perfect people can enter God’s heaven and there are no perfect people.
We needed a perfect life and Jesus lived the perfect sinless life for us.
1 Peter 2:22 “Who committed no sin, nor was deceit found in His mouth’;
1 John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and
in Him there is no sin.
2 Corintians 5:21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that
we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Lyrics Favorite Song of All
His favorite song of all
Is the song of the redeemed
When lost sinners now made clean
Lift their voices loud and strong
When those purchased by His blood
Lift to Him a song of love
There’s nothing more He’d rather hear
Nor so pleasing to His ear
As His favorite song of all

A concert is where people perform for other people
A church is where the people of God come into the presence of God to sing the
praises of God.

Sermon Notes:

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you
were called in one body; and be thankful.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching
and admonishing one another …

Putting off:
Fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.
Anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language and lies
Putting on:
Tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering, bearing with one
another, and forgiving one another, love.

I. LET THE PEACE OF CHRIST RULE.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God …”

Luke 22:20 “…This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you.”

Colossians 3:15 (NLT) “… For as members of one body you are all called to live
in peace.”
Colossians 3:15 (Philips) “… remembering that as members of the same body
you are called to live in harmony…”

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, …
Colossians 3:15 (Amp) And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ
rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality
all questions that arise in your minds…

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way
of death.

Luke 9:35 “… This is my beloved Son: hear him.

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because
when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it
not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively
works in you who believe.

The Word of God is the final authority.
When we agree with the Bible, we are right.
When we disagree with the Bible, we are wrong.

Former Pastor Rick Warren shares 5 Reasons Why Saddleback Is Challenging
the SBC Removal of his church:
1.We’re challenging the ruling on behalf of millions of SBC women whose God
given spiritual gifts and leadership skills are being wasted instead of empowered
for the Great Commission.
2. We’re challenging the ruling on behalf of over 300 concerned pastors who
have female pastors serving on their staff and have written to me.
3.We’re challenging the ruling on behalf of our IMB missionaries.
4. We believe a decision this critical to the SBC’s identity and future should be
decided by the Messengers, not a committee.
5. Our goal is to spark the thinking of messengers regarding the direction of the
SBC, regardless of the outcome of the vote.
Note my prediction: The next generation of Southern Baptists will remove the
restriction on women one day, because truth eventually triumphs over tradition.

1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,

Troy Zapp is 26 years old and she started her male transition in October of 2014 (quote)
“It is ironic that the one place that all LGBTQ’s fear the most to be involved with
(church), was the same place that brought my transition upon me. I use to hate
and fear the church including all the people in it. Now, I am involved and loved,
and know I belong.”

What does the Lord, the final authority have to say?
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He
created him; male and female He created them.
Deuteronomy 22:5 A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor
shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination
to the Lord your God.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom
of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
1 Corinthians 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

Andy Stanley says: “I stopped leveraging the authority of Scripture and began
leveraging the authority and stories of the people behind the Scripture.
To be clear, I don’t believe “the Bible says,” “Scripture teaches,” and “the Word
of God commands” are incorrect approaches. But they are ineffective approaches
for post-Christian people. Close to half our population does not view the Bible
as authoritative either.”

Luke 16:31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither
will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’

Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me;

John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that
its works are evil.

II. LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom …”

It’s one thing to get in the Word.
It’s quite another thing for the Word to get in you.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

Colossians 3:16 ” … teaching and admonishing one another …

Praise the Lord, I saw the Lord
We can’t turn the light on, only God can do that.

Billy Sunday said, “When the Great Umpire of the Universe makes the Final Call,
will He find you “Safe at Home” or “Out for all eternity?”
