1 Corinthians 7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on
even those who have wives should be as though they had none,
1 Corinthians 7:30 Those who weep as though they did not weep, those who
rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess,
1 Corinthians 7:31 And those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form
of this world is passing away.

Corrie ten Boom said (quote)
“Pastor Swindoll, you must learn to hold everything loosely … everything. Even
your dear family. Why? Because the Father may wish to take them back to Himself
and when He does, it will hurt you if He must pry your fingers loose.Remember …
hold everything loosely. . . everything.”

1 Corinthians 7:27 Are you bound to a wife? Do not seek to be loosed. Are you loosed
from a wife? Do not seek a wife.
1 Corinthians 7:28 But even if you do marry, you have not sinned; and if a virgin
marries, she has not sinned. Nevertheless such will have trouble in the flesh, but
I would spare you.

I) HOLD ON LOOSELY TO HUMAN RELATIONSHIPS.
1 Corinthians 7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on
even those who have wives should be as though they had none,

1 Corinthians 7:31 “… For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

Matthew 22:28 Therefore, in the resurrection, whose wife of the seven will she be?
For they all had her.”
Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said to them, “You are mistaken, not
knowing the Scriptures nor the power of God.
Matthew 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage,
but are like angels of God in heaven.

We are all leaving this world as singles and we are staying as singles for all eternity.

1 Corinthians 7:29 (NLT) So from now on, those with wives should not focus only
on their marriage

Luke 14:25 Now great multitudes went with Him. And He turned and said to them,
Luke 14:26 “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife
and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.

Hebrews 13:5 “… For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Romans 8:39 “… [Nothing]shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is
in Christ Jesus our Lord.

II) HOLD ON LOOSELY TO HUMAN EMOTIONS.
1 Corinthians 7:30 Those who weep as though they did not weep, those who
rejoice as though they did not rejoice, …

1 Corinthians 10:13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common
to man …

1 Thessalonians 4:13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those
who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope.

Philippians 4:11 “… for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content:

Nehemiah 8:10 “… Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.”

III) HOLD ON LOOSELY TO HUMAN POSSESSIONS.
1 Corinthians 7:30 “… those who buy as though they did not possess,
1 Corinthians 7:31 “… For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

Luke 12:20 But God said to him, ‘Fool! This night your soul will be required of you;
then whose will those things be which you have provided?’
Luke 12:21 “So is he who lays up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.”
Matthew 6:19 Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth…
Matthew 6:20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven …
Matthew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart be also….

Ernest Hemingway said, ” If I can give these things away then I own them but if
I can’t give them away because they have somehow become so important to me
then they own me. ”

1 Timothy 6:7 For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry
nothing out.

If want to know how rich you are add up all the things you have that money can’t buy
and death can’t take away, then you will know how rich you really are.

IV) HOLD ON LOOSELY TO HUMAN PLEASURES.
1 Corinthians 7:31 And those who use this world as not misusing it.
1 Corinthians 7:31 (GW) Those who use the things in this world should do so but not
depend on them.
1 Corinthians 7:31 (ESV) And those who deal with the world as though they had no
dealings with it.

2 Timothy 3:1 But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come:
2 Timothy 3:2 For men will be lovers of themselves, ..
2 Timothy 3:4 “… lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.”

1 Corinthians 7:29 But this I say, brethren, the time is short, so that from now on
1 Corinthians 7:31 “… For this world as we know it will soon pass away.

Life is about holding on loosely and then letting go completely.

Only one life twill soon pass, only what’s done for Christ will last
“Remember hold everything loosely. . . everything.”

Psalm 23:1 The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.

The Conspiracy Against Christ: It’s An Inside Job”

The Conspiracy Against Christ: It’s An Inside Job”

A conspiracy is defined as a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful.
Abraham Lincoln once said, ” There are a thousand ways to getting at a man if it
is desired that he should be killed. ”

Parkland Dr. McClelland recalls
“When [Dr. Perry] left the room, someone came up to him who Dr. Perry thought
maybe was a Secret Service man, and he told Dr. Perry, ‘You must never, ever
say that was an entrance wound again if you know what’s good for you.”

Arlen Spector told Parkland Dr Ron Jones, “I want to tell you that we have people who
will testify they saw him shot from the overpass but we do not believe they are credible
witnesses and I don’t want you to say anything about it.”

There is a list of 103 people who have supposedly died strange or convenient or
mysterious deaths connected to the JFK assassination.
A study done said “the odds against these [assassination] witnesses being dead by
February 1967, were one hundred thousand trillion to one.”

John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me,
though he may die, he shall live.
John 11:43 Now when He had said these things, He cried with a loud voice, ‘Lazarus,
come forth!'”
John 11:44 And he who had died came out bound hand and foot with graveclothes,
and his face was wrapped with a cloth. Jesus said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
John 11:45 Then many of the Jews who had come to Mary, and had seen the things
Jesus did, believed in Him.

John 11:46 But some of them went away to the Pharisees and told them the things
Jesus did.

John 11:47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered a council and said,
What shall we do? For this Man works many signs.
John 11:48 If we let Him alone like this, everyone will believe in Him, and the Romans
will come and take away both our place and nation.”

Miracles per se no matter how great — do not always translate into belief in Jesus!

Mayor Wheeler,
I have seen your response to the riots in your city and I am urging you to stick to
the proven Democratic Play book,
1: Deny there is a Problem, (Press will support this)
2: Refer to everything as peaceful and calm, (Press will help here also)
3: When all hell breaks loose, go on camera and show your support for anybody
breaking the law, (Press will praise you for this, you will be a new hero, trust me).
4: When you can no longer keep any order ‘BLAME TRUMP!’ (I cannot over emphasize #4,
This has worked every time we have used it and again the Press has told me they will
support and fact check any claim we make!! THIS IS POLITICAL GOLD!!)
5: Go on Television and Condemn TRUMP and refuse any assistance! We CANNOT
give TRUMP any victory before the election!!!!!!”
best wishes, Nancy Pelosi.

John 11:49 And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that year, said to them,
You know nothing at all,
John 11:50 nor do you consider that it is expedient for us that one man should die
for the people, and not that the whole nation should perish.”
John 11:51 Now this he did not say on his own authority; but being high priest that
year he prophesied that Jesus would die for the nation,
John 11:52 and not for that nation only, but also that He would gather together in one
the children of God who were scattered abroad.

John 11:53 Then, from that day on, they plotted to put Him to death.

Secret Service Agent Clint Hill said “It’s my belief the United States lost its
innocence on November 22, 1963.”

John 11:57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a command,
that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it, that they might seize Him.

Acts 3:14 (ESV) But you denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer
to be granted to you,
Acts 3:15 And you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this
we are witnesses.

You killed the Author of life, and you gave life to a killer.

John 1:4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.
John 11:25 Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.
John 14:6 “… I am the way, the truth, and the life.”

Human pride was and still is the great fuel that feeds human unbelief.

John 12:24 Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground
and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.

[Jas 1:2-20 NKJV] My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have [its] perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; [he is] a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways. Let the lowly brother glory in his exaltation, but the rich in his humiliation, because as a flower of the field he will pass away. For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits. Blessed [is] the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone. But each one is tempted when he is drawn away by his own desires and enticed. Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, brings forth death. Do not be deceived, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning. Of His own will He brought us forth by the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of His creatures. So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.

[Jas 5:7-14 NKJV] Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See [how] the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brethren, lest you be condemned. Behold, the Judge is standing at the door! My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end [intended by] the Lord–that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful. But above all, my brethren, do not swear, either by heaven or by earth or with any other oath. But let your “Yes” be “Yes,” and [your] “No,” “No,” lest you fall into judgment. Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord.

Sermon Text:
“Where Are The Nine?”

Luke 17:11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through
the midst of Samaria and Galilee.
Luke 17:12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who
were lepers, who stood afar off.
Luke 17:13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy
on us!”
Luke 17:14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to
the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with
a loud voice glorified God,
Luke 17:16 And fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was
a Samaritan.
Luke 17:17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But
where are the nine?
Luke 17:18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except
this foreigner?”
Luke 17:19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Thanksgiving has been called having an attitude of gratitude.
There is a tremendous difference between simply feeling gratitude and expressing
gratitude.

I. THE TERRIBLE CONDITION OF TEN LEPERS.
Luke 17:11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the
midst of Samaria and Galilee.
Luke 17:12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were
lepers, who stood afar off.

Isaiah 1:4 Alas, sinful nation, a people laden with iniquity, A brood of evildoers,
children who are corrupters! They have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked
to anger the Holy One of Israel, they have turned away backward.
Isaiah 1:5 Why should you be stricken again? You will revolt more and more.
The whole head is sick, and the whole heart faints.
Isaiah 1:6 From the sole of the foot even to the head, there is no soundness in it,
But wounds and bruises and putrefying sores; They have not been closed or bound
up, or soothed with ointment.

II. THE THUNDERING CRY OF TEN LEPERS.
Luke 17:13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy
on us!”

III. THE THOROUGH CLEANSING OF TEN LEPERS.
Luke 17:14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the
priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things
not seen.

IV. THE THANKFUL CONFESSION OF ONE LEPER.
Luke 17:15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with
a loud voice glorified God,
Luke 17:16 And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks …

Let every breath, all that I am
Never cease to worship You
Shout to the Lord, all the earth, let us sing

47:1 Oh, clap your hands, all you peoples! Shout to God with the voice of triumph!
Psalm 47:2 For the Lord Most High is awesome; He is a great King over all the earth.

Psalm 107:1 Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.
Psalm 107:2 Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He has redeemed from the
hand of the enemy,

Luke 17:16 “…. And he was a Samaritan.”

No longer an outcast, a new song I sing;
From rags unto riches, from the weak to the strong,
I’m not worthy to be here, but PRAISE GOD! I belong!

V. THE THANKLESS CONSENSUS OF NINE LEPERS.
Luke 17:17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where
are the nine?
Luke 17:18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this
foreigner?”

1. Were there not ten healed? Yes.
2. Where are the other nine? Gone.
3. Is there no one here but this stranger? No one.

The central fact in a time of worship is not that we are seeking God but that God is
seeking us.
John 4:23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship
the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him.

Not only do we need to hear from God through His Word but God wants to hear
from us.

VI. THE TOTAL CONVERSION OF ONE FORMER LEPER.
Luke 17:19 And He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

On the outside the ten appear identical. Yet what a difference.
One returned. Nine went on.
One was grateful. Nine were not.
One man found forgiveness. Nine did not.
One man got two miracles. Nine got one.
All ten were healed. That’s one miracle.
But the Samaritan was healed and forgiven. That’s two miracles.

Luke 12:8 (NLT) “I tell you the truth, everyone who acknowledges me publicly
here on earth, the Son of Man will also acknowledge in the presence of God’s angels.
Luke 12:9 But anyone who denies me here on earth will be denied before God’s
angels.

Oppression: The Oppressed vs. The Oppressors

Oppression: The Oppressed vs. The Oppressors

Sermon Notes:

Ecclesiastes 4:1 (NLT) Again, I observed all the oppression that takes place under
the sun. I saw the tears of the oppressed, with no one to comfort them.
The oppressors have great power, and their victims are helpless.

Oppression is like a ball and chain bound to a person to tie them down, to hold them
back, to keep them in their place so they cannot rise above their circumstances
https://thecontentauthority.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/08/oppression-ball-and-chain.jpg

Ecclesiastes 4:2 Therefore I praised the dead who were already dead, more than
the living who are still alive.
Ecclesiastes 4:3 Yet, better than both is he who has never existed, who has not
seen the evil work that is done under the sun.

1) JESUS CAME FOR THE OPPRESSED.
Luke 4:16 So He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up. And as His
custom was, He went into the synagogue on the Sabbath day, and stood up to read.
Luke 4:17 And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had
opened the book, He found the place where it was written:
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me to
preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to
proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty
those who are oppressed;
Luke 4:21 And He began to say to them, “Today this Scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Ecclesiastes 5:8 If you see the oppression of the poor, and the violent perversion of
justice and righteousness in a province, do not marvel at the matter; for high official
watches over high official, and higher officials are over them.

Luke 22:24 Now there was also a dispute among them, as to which of them should
be considered the greatest.
Luke 22:25 And He said to them, “The kings of the Gentiles exercise lordship over
them, and those who exercise authority over them are called ‘benefactors.’
Luke 22:26 But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is greatest among you,
let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves.

2) JESUS CAME TO BE OPPRESSED.
Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth;
He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent,
so He opened not His mouth.

Matthew 15:24 But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep
of the house of Israel.”

Exodus 2:23 Now it happened in the process of time that the king of Egypt died.
Then the children of Israel groaned because of the bondage, and they cried out;
and their cry came up to God because of the bondage.
Exodus 3:9 Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me,
and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them.

To be a Jew means always being with the oppressed and never the oppressors.

Cornell University posting by Hamas:
… Jews are human animals and deserve a pig’s death. Liberation by any means.
From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free!”

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing,

3) JESUS CAME TO BRING LIBERATION FOR THE OPPRESSED.
Luke 4:18 ” … to set at liberty those who were oppressed;

Jesus the oppressed identified with those in humanity who were oppressed.

John 4:7 A woman of Samaria came to draw water. Jesus said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
John 4:8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
John 4:9 Then the woman of Samaria said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Jew,
ask a drink from me, a Samaritan woman?” For Jews have no dealings with Samaritans.

The oppressed Jews were clearly capable of being the oppressors themselves in
certain situations and against certain people.

John 4:16 Jesus said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
John 4:17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her,
You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’
John 4:18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not
your husband; in that you spoke truly.”

John 4:28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said
to the men,
John 4:29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be
the Christ?”
John 4:30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him.

Luke 16:19 “There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen
and fared sumptuously every day.
Luke 16:20 But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was
laid at his gate,
Luke 16:21 desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table.
Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

Luke 16:22 So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s
bosom. The rich man also died and was buried.
Luke 16:23 And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham
afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
Luke 16:24 “Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send
Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am
tormented in this flame.’
Luke 16:25 But Abraham said, “Son, remember that in your lifetime you received
your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you
are tormented.

Acts 10:38 How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power,
who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for
God was with Him.

Ultimately either in this life or the life to come, the oppressed will be blessed and
the oppressor will be cursed.

Psalm 103:6 The Lord executes righteousness and justice for all who are oppressed.
Psalm 72:4 He will bring justice to the poor of the people; He will save the children
of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.
