Sermon Notes:

Psalm 90:9 (KJV) “… we spend our years as a tale that is told.”

All of us are busy writing the history of our lives.
After each hour, we write a paragraph.
After each day, we write a page.
After each week, we write a division.
After each year, we write a chapter.
And at the end, we finish the book.

William Shakespeare
“All the world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players: they have
their exits and their entrances; and one man in his time plays many parts …”

1. THE CREATOR OF OUR STORY.
Psalm 100:3 Know that the Lord, He is God; It is He who has made us, and not
we ourselves;

Psalm 14:1 The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.”

James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons
believe—-and tremble!

2. THE WRITER OF OUR STORY.
Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author …”

Psalm 139:16 Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed. And in Your
book they all were written, the days fashioned for me, when as yet there were
none of them.

Acts 3:15 (NIV) You killed the author of life, but God raised him from the dead.
We are witnesses of this.

The singer/song-writer Billy Joel said: “There’s a guy… nailed to a cross and
dripping blood, and everyone’s blaming themselves for that man’s torment,
but I said to myself, ’Forget it. I had no hand in that evil. I have no original sin.
There’s no blood of any sacred martyr on my hands. I pass on all of this.”

3. THE DIRECTOR OF OUR STORY.

Proverbs 3:6 In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths
Psalm 32:8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go
Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight,
He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
Psalm 63:1 O God, You are my God; Early will I seek You;

Why are lost people described in the Bible as being lost?
Because they have no sense of direction.
Luke 19:10 For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

Acts 2:40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save
yourselves from this untoward generation.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way
of death.

Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way which leadeth unto life.
and few there be that find it.

4. THE CAMERA AND SOUND CREW OF OUR STORY.
2 Chronicles 16:9 For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth,
to show Himself strong on behalf of those whose heart is loyal to Him.
Hebrews 4:13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked
and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.

2 Corinthians 4:18 while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things
which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which
are not seen are eternal.

D.L. Moody once said ” If a camera were ever invented that could take a picture
of the heart of man the inventor would starve to death. Because no one would
buy a camera that would expose the secret things of one’s heart.”

John 12:4 But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray
Him, said,
John 12:5 “Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given
to the poor?”
John 12:6 This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief,
and had the money box; and he used to take what was put in it.

Luke 8:17 For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden
that will not be known and come to light.

Luke 12:2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid,
that shall not be known.
Luke 12:3 Therefore whatever you have spoken in the dark will be heard in the
light, and what you have spoken in the ear in inner rooms will be proclaimed
on the housetops.
Ecclesiates 12:14 For God will bring every work into judgment, including every
secret thing, whether good or evil.

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore judge nothing before the time, until the Lord comes, who
will both bring to light the hidden things of darkness and reveal the counsels of the
hearts. Then each one’s praise will come from God.

5. THE PRODUCER OF OUR STORY.
John 15:5 “… for without Me you can do nothing.

Matthew 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
Mark 6:41 (TPT) Then Jesus took the five loaves and two fish, gazed into heaven, and
gave thanks to God. He broke the bread and the two fish and distributed them to his
disciples to serve the people—and the food was multiplied in front of their eyes!
Matthew 4:4 “… Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds
from the mouth of God.’ ”

6. THE END OF OUR STORY.
Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a thing is better than its beginning;

The Barna Research Group says, ” It is estmated that 40% of those presently
serving in the church body will not be doing so 10 years from now.

1 Corinthians 9:27 27 But I discipline my body and bring it into subjection,
lest, when I have preached to others, I myself should become disqualified.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, …”

I just took a look at the back of the book
And I know how the story ends
Any way you slice it, sinner my advice is
You’ve got to be a Christian to win

2 Corinthians 5:8 We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent from the body
and to be present with the Lord.
