Malachi 1:2 “I have loved you,” says the Lord. “Yet you say, ‘In what way have
You loved us?’
Malachi 1:2 “… You say, ‘In what way have You loved us?
Malachi 1:6 “… Where is My honor? Where is My reverence? You say, “In what way
have we despised Your name?’
‘Malachi 1:7 “… In what way have we defiled You?
Malachi 1:13 “…Should I accept this from your hand?
Malachi 2:17 You have wearied the Lord with your words;Yet you say, “In what way
have we wearied Him?”
Malachi 3:8 “Will a man rob God? But you say, “In what way have we robbed You?
Malachi 3:13 “… What have we spoken against You?’
This is not what God has said, this is what God is still saying.
I. GOD’S LOVE BURDENED.
Malachi 1:1 The burden of the word of the Lord to Israel by Malachi.
Malachi 3:1 “Behold, I send My messenger, …
Galatians 6:2 Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.
Mark 2:3 Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men.
Mark 2:4 And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered
the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on
which the paralytic was lying.
Mark 2:5 When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins
are forgiven you.”
Didn’t someone believe for you before you believed?
Didn’t someone pray for us before we knew to pray for ourselves?
Every person’s salvation begins with the burden, interest and influence of another.
II. GOD’S LOVE ANNOUNCED.
Malachi 1:2 “I have loved you,” says the Lord.”
Malachi 1:6 “A son honors his father, and a servant his master. If then I am the Father,
Where is My honor?

III. GOD’S LOVE DOUBTED.
Malachi 1:2 “… Yet you say, ‘In what way have You loved us?’
Catergory #1. We Must Take The Good With The Bad.
Job 2:10 (NLT) Should we accept only good things from the hand of God and never
anything bad?”
Catergory #2. Right Place, Right Time, Wrong Place, Wrong Time.
Ecclesiastes 9:11 I returned and saw under the sun that–
The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
Catergory #3. Be Ready: It Could Happen To You.
Luke 13:4 (NLT) And what about the eighteen people who died when the tower in
Siloam fell on them? Were they the worst sinners in Jerusalem?
Luke 13:5 No, and I tell you again that unless you repent, you will perish, too.”
Catergory #4. Don’t Worry, It’s None Of Your Business.
John 21:18 “I tell you the truth, when you were young, you were able to do as you
liked; you dressed yourself and went wherever you wanted to go.
But when you are old, you will stretch out your hands, and others will dress you and
take you where you don’t want to go.”
John 21:19 Jesus said this to let him know by what kind of death he would glorify
God. Then Jesus told him, “Follow me.”
John 21:20 Peter turned around and saw behind them the disciple Jesus loved—
the one who had leaned over to Jesus during supper and asked, “Lord, who will
betray you?”
John 21:21 Peter asked Jesus, “What about him, Lord?”
John 21:22 Jesus replied, “If I want him to remain alive until I return, what is that to
you? As for you, follow me.
Catergory #5. God Is Not Obligated To Explain Himself To Us.
Proverbs 25:2 “It is the glory of God to conceal a matter…”
Isaiah 45:15 ” Truly you are a God who hides Himself.”
Isaiah 55:8 “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,”
says the Lord.
Isaiah 55:9 “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher
than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts.
Romans 11:33 “… How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!
Psalm 139:2 “… You know my thoughts even when I’m far away
Psalm 139:3 “… You know everything I do.”
Psalm 139:4 You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.
John 3:16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that
whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save
He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love
He will rejoice over you with singing.”

John 4:17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband.” Jesus said to her,
You have well said, ‘I have no husband,’
John 4:18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not
your husband; in that you spoke truly.”
John 4:19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
John 4:25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Messiah is coming” (who is called Christ).
When He comes, He will tell us all things.
John 4:26 Jesus said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
John 8:3 Then the scribes and Pharisees brought to Him a woman caught in adultery.
And when they had set her in the midst,
John 8:4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman was caught in adultery, in the very act.
John 8:5 Now Moses, in the law, commanded us that such should be stoned.
But what do You say?”
John 8:7 So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them,
He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.
John 8:9 Then those who heard it, being convicted by their conscience, went out
one by one, beginning with the oldest even to the last. And Jesus was left alone,
and the woman standing in the midst.
John 8:10 When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said
to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?”
John 8:11 She said, “No one, Lord.” And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you;
go and sin no more.”

Do you not judge those who are inside?
1 Corinthians 5:13 But those who are outside God judges.
John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that
the world through him might be saved.
2. The Casualty in Liberal Churches is Truth.
Jude 1:4 (NLT) I say this because some ungodly people have wormed their way into
your churches, saying that God’s marvelous grace allows us to live immoral lives.
The condemnation of such people was recorded long ago, for they have denied our
only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Sermon Notes:
Mark 9:43 If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter into life
maimed, rather than having two hands, to go to hell, into the fire that shall never be
quenched—
Mark 9:44 where ‘Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.’
Mark 9:45 And if your foot causes you to sin, cut it off. It is better for you to enter
life lame, rather than having two feet, to be cast into hell, into the fire that shall
never be quenched—
Mark 9:46 where ‘Their worm does not die
And the fire is not quenched.’
Mark 9:47 And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter
the kingdom of God with one eye, rather than having two eyes, to be cast into hell
fire—
Mark 9:48 where ‘Their worm does not die

Rule #12: Don’t Major on the Minors or Minor on the Majors, but Keep the Main Thing,
the Main Thing and the Plain Things are the Main Things
In a CBS morning interview, Joel Osteen was asked the question:
Do you feel like you’re cheating people by not telling them about the Hell part?
Or repentance part?”
Joel Osteen answered: “No, I really don’t, because it’s a different approach.
You know, it’s not hellfire and brimstone. But I say most people are beaten down
enough by life. They already feel guilty enough … My goal is to make God good
and let them know, hey, I tell them all the time, God’s smiling down on you right now.
You’re his child. He’s got a great plan for your life. You can overcome mistakes,
and to me, that draws people to God.”
The Bible uses similes to describe Jesus
Revelation 1:14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His
eyes like a flame of fire;
Revelation 1:15 His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice
as the sound of many waters.
Jesus incorporated numerous similes into His parables to help us understand:
Mark 4:30 Then He said, “To what shall we liken the kingdom of God? Or with
what parable shall we picture it?
Matthew 13:31 Another parable He put forth to them, saying: “The kingdom of heaven
is like a mustard seed …”

leaven, …”
Matthew 13:44 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field …”
Matthew 13:45 “Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant seeking beautiful
pearls, …”

of Your wings,

heart, saying, The people is greater and taller than we; the cities are great and

have transgressed against Me. For their worm does not die, and their fire is not
quenched. They shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”
The Hearse Song by Harley Poe
Don’t ever laugh as a Hearse goes by
For you may be the next to die
They wrap you up in a big white sheet
From your head down to your feet
They put you in a big black box
And cover you up with dirt and rocks
And all goes well for about a week
And then your coffin begins to leak
And the worms crawl in, the worms crawl out
The worms play pinochle on your snout
They eat your eyes, they eat your nose
They eat the jelly between your toes
A big green worm with rolling eyes
Crawls in your stomach and out your eyes
Your stomach turns a slimy green
And puss comes out like whipping cream
You spread it on a slice of bread
And that’s what you eat when your dead
And the worms crawl out and the worms crawl in
The worms that crawl in are lean and thin
The ones that crawl out are fat and stout
Your eyes fall in and your hair falls out
Your brain comes tumbling down your snout
And the worms crawl in, the worms crawl out
They crawl all over your dirty snout
Your chest caves in and your eyes pop out
And your brain turns to sauerkraut
They invite their friends, and their friends too
They all come down to chew on you
And this is what it is to die
I hope you had a nice goodbye
Did you ever think as a Hearse goes by
That you may be the next to die
And your eyes fall out and your teeth decay
And that is the end of a perfect… day
Psalm 22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; A reproach of men, and despised by the
people.
The fire that shall never be quenched, and the fire is not quenched

Now troubles are many there’re as deep as a well

1 Thessalonians 2:13 For this reason we also thank God without ceasing, because
when you received the word of God which you heard from us, you welcomed it
not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which also effectively
works in you who believe.
The Word of God is the final authority.
When we agree with the Bible, we are right.
When we disagree with the Bible, we are wrong.
Former Pastor Rick Warren shares 5 Reasons Why Saddleback Is Challenging
the SBC Removal of his church:
1.We’re challenging the ruling on behalf of millions of SBC women whose God
given spiritual gifts and leadership skills are being wasted instead of empowered
for the Great Commission.
2. We’re challenging the ruling on behalf of over 300 concerned pastors who
have female pastors serving on their staff and have written to me.
3.We’re challenging the ruling on behalf of our IMB missionaries.
4. We believe a decision this critical to the SBC’s identity and future should be
decided by the Messengers, not a committee.
5. Our goal is to spark the thinking of messengers regarding the direction of the
SBC, regardless of the outcome of the vote.
Note my prediction: The next generation of Southern Baptists will remove the
restriction on women one day, because truth eventually triumphs over tradition.
1 Timothy 3:2 A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife,
Troy Zapp is 26 years old and she started her male transition in October of 2014 (quote)
“It is ironic that the one place that all LGBTQ’s fear the most to be involved with
(church), was the same place that brought my transition upon me. I use to hate
and fear the church including all the people in it. Now, I am involved and loved,
and know I belong.”
What does the Lord, the final authority have to say?
Genesis 1:27 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He
created him; male and female He created them.
Deuteronomy 22:5 A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor
shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination
to the Lord your God.
1 Corinthians 6:9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom
of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers,
nor homosexuals, nor sodomites,
1 Corinthians 6:10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor
extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.
Andy Stanley says: “I stopped leveraging the authority of Scripture and began
leveraging the authority and stories of the people behind the Scripture.
To be clear, I don’t believe “the Bible says,” “Scripture teaches,” and “the Word
of God commands” are incorrect approaches. But they are ineffective approaches
for post-Christian people. Close to half our population does not view the Bible
as authoritative either.”
Luke 16:31 But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither
will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’
Matthew 12:30 He that is not with me is against me;
John 7:7 The world cannot hate you, but it hates Me because I testify of it that
its works are evil.
II. LET THE WORD OF CHRIST DWELL.
Colossians 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom …”
It’s one thing to get in the Word.
It’s quite another thing for the Word to get in you.
Psalm 119:11 Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Colossians 3:16 ” … teaching and admonishing one another …
Praise the Lord, I saw the Lord
We can’t turn the light on, only God can do that.
Billy Sunday said, “When the Great Umpire of the Universe makes the Final Call,
will He find you “Safe at Home” or “Out for all eternity?”
Colossians 3:12 Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender
mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
Colossians 3:13 Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone
has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
Colossians 3:14 But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of
perfection.
Here’s some Mom wisdom for Mother’s Day
* It’s not easy being a Mom. If it were, Dad would do it!
* Moms are the only ones who know the true meaning of 24/7.
* I smile because I’m your mother, but I laugh because there’s nothing I can do
about it.
* We have the perfect mother-daughter relationship. You’re my daughter, and
I’m perfect!
* Mom, on helping the kids with their math homework:
Dear Math, grow up and solve your own problems.
* Silence is golden. Unless you have kids, then silence is suspicious.
* Why is a computer so smart? Because it listens to its motherboard.
* Why is Mother’s Day before Father’s Day? So kids can spend their Christmas
money on Mom.
*I hate when I’m waiting for Mom to cook dinner and then I remember I am the
Mom and I have to cook dinner.
* Nothing is really lost until Mom can’t find it.
* Home is where your mom is.
