Word was God.
John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory,
the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we
have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled,

1 John 1:2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare

1. HIS PERPETUATION: JESUS EXISTED IN ETERNITY BEFORE US.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word,
John 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard,
Jesus is the only human being that was ever born that didn’t have a beginning.
2. HIS COMMUNICATION: JESUS EXPLAINS LIFE FOR US.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
Word was God.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh …
1 John 1:1 “… concerning the Word of life—-
1 Corinthians 2:16 For “who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct
Him?β But we have the mind of Christ.
Revelation 1:8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,” says the
Lord, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”
Revelation 1:11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,”
3. HIS INCARNATION: JESUS ENTERED INTO LIFE WITH US.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us …”
John 1:10 He was in the world and the world was made through Him …”
John 1:11 He came to His own, …”
He became like us so He could live with us.
He became like us so He could live like us.
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see; Hail th’incarnate Deity,
Pleased as man with man to dwell; Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald-angels sing
Glory to the newborn King
The bread is the incarnation and the cup is the crucifixion.
4. HIS MANIFESTATION: JESUS EMBODIED HUMANITY WITH US.
1 John 1:1 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we
have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled,
concerning the Word of lifeβ
1 John 1:2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness …”
John 7:46 “…No man ever spoke like this Man!”
He touched me and oh, the joy that floods my soul
Something happened, and now I know; He touched me and made me whole
John 20:29 Jesus said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have
believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”
5. HIS SALVATION: JESUS EQUIPS US WITH ETERNAL LIFE.
1 John 1:2 (NIV) “… we proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father
and has appeared to us.”
Matthew 1:23 “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall
call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.
Matthew 28:20 “… And lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Hebrews 13:5 “… For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
He became like us so He could save us.
He became like us so He could die for us.
He became like us so we could live with Him.
He came from heaven to show us heaven to take us to heaven.
